With the sun shining and warm weather, summertime is a great excuse to tackle home renovation projects. Many renovation projects can take weeks or sometimes months to complete. We’re highlighting some quick summer DIY projects that won’t break the bank and take only a weekend to complete!

Accent Wall

We all know a fresh coat of paint can go a long way to transform the appearance of your home and it’s value. Painting the entire interior of your home can be a huge project to take on, but painting an accent wall is a quick project that can completely transform a room. Tackle painting on a warm sunny day and make sure to open your windows for proper ventilation and a faster drying period.

Light Fixtures and Fans

Lighting fixtures are often called the jewelry of a home. Outdated lights and fans make the entire space feel drab. Installing new fixtures is an easy way to add in your style. Lighting and ceiling fans come in a variety of styles and colors and are priced at a range of costs.

Kitchen

Kitchen remodeling is a common summer project because it is much easier to cook and eat outside. Depending on the type of upgrades you are willing to take on, projects can take weeks to complete. But the good news is there are plenty of mini-kitchen improvement options that can be completed in a couple of days. These projects include adding a new faucet, changing light fixtures, painting the cabinets, or adding a new backsplash.

Transform the Front Door

Believe it or not, upgrading your front door can give you the best bang for your buck in terms of transforming the look and feel of your home. In addition to this, old exterior doors can be a huge source of energy loss. If you don’t need to replace your door, you can simply change the color. When doing this, you can remove the door completely or paint it in place (just make sure to cover your doorknobs and hinges!).

Upgrade Windows

If your windows are older, in poor shape, or not doing your home justice, summer is a great time to replace them. Do your homework especially on windows. There are a variety of energy-efficient options that not only block UV rays but also help hold cool air inside. If new windows aren’t an option, opt for new curtains to change things up!

Overall, none of these projects require an excessive amount of time, money, or energy, but all will add value to your home. If you plan to sell your home this summer, executing these simple summer renovations will surely draw attention to your home. If not, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of your hard work for the rest of the summer!
